Northstar at Tahoe Golf Course is a Resort 18 hole golf course located in Truckee, California.
Northstar at Tahoe Golf Course first opened for play in 1974. The course was designed by Robert Muir Graves.
The course incorporates Tahoe's mountainous landscapes with Martis Valley's open meadow into two distinct 9-hole settings. The front nine is played through a valley and the back nine is played through the woods. The Meadow Nine (holes 1-9) opens to a links-style course that allows golfers to "grip it and rip it." The Mountain Nine (holes 10-18) demands precise shot-making through tree-lined fairways with approach shots to small greens.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,897 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,470 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 590 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 590 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 183 yard par-3.

I have played at Northstar for the past 20 years and this year was the best condition I have found Northstar to be.

Two very different nines -- the front, a wooded, tight, tree-lined nine; the back, an open, treeless, meadowed nine. Both sides are fun and will make you think a bit.
